18 inch vs 18 inch wheels
i am interested in a 2018 350 awd except that it has 19 inch wheels. I travel 200 miles twice a week on interstates with a fair amount of weather based potholes. Should I ask the dealer to swap the 19s for 18s or does it make that much of a difference?

Based on personal experience, an 18" wheel won't make any difference if you hit a pot hole at highway speeds. I'd base my tire/wheel choice on looks and ride quality, and buy a Lexus Tire and Wheel Protection Plan to protect against pot holes. I normally don't buy warranties but my plan paid off handsomely (two wheels and three tires) with the roads around Dallas/Fort Worth. Good luck!

I live in NE Ohio and the pot holes are terrible in certain areas throughout Cleveland. I was driving down the highway this past Sunday and hit a pothole causing a large puncture to the sidewall of my 19” low profile front right tire. You just have to be careful and observant. Try to maneuver around them when you see them coming up if you can. I don’t think there is much difference in 18” vs 19” rims regarding likelyhood of roas hazard damage.

thanks for these great replies. i should have gotten the protection plan but I'll try to be on my toes on route 71. Maybe the Michelin MXM4 tires that are installed by the dealer will handle light potholes ok. thanks again
