2013 RX350 Alarm Chime/Beep Volume
Recently, I noticed the alarm chime was really quiet on our RX. We hadn't changed any settings, so I wasn't sure why it suddenly got really quiet. I went into the settings via the nav screen and confirmed the volume was set to the highest setting. Still, hardly a sound out of the system.
Any ideas? It sounds very muffled. Similar to how it sounds if the windshield cowl is covered in snow. I checked the area and there are no leaves or other obstructions.

You could find the part at Lexus South Atlanta parts web page as they have exploded drawings of everything so maybe that would help you locate it. They would be a good place to purchase it from.

I think I found it: Part number: 89747-30040 It looks like it's located behind the fender based on the diagram : https://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.c...category=21749
But from what I hear, it sounds like it's under the windshield cowl. When it worked, it would get quieter when snow was on vehicle.

As a test, find the one in your vehicle and disconnect it. If there are no longer chime sounds, then you found the part. If not, it may be time to call a dealer parts department.
I would first see if it is in the engine compartment before removing the fender inner liner. That drawing location is not exact. I bet it is closer to the windshield/cowl area.

I'm still working on chasing this down. I'm thinking if it's not under the windshield cowl, it's by the front fender in the engine bay. I'll update once I have it pin pointed.
