Default Would you pull the trigger?

Brought my LS 400 to the Toyota dealership to be serviced and decided to give the new Camry a test drive (didn't like it). After test driving the new Camry, I came across this LS460 on the lot. I think that it's a good example at a good deal but I'm not well versed with the LS460. Would you agree? Don't really need a new car. My LS400 is problem-free (knock on wood) but the new technology and safety features the LS460 has would be greatly appreciated on my new morning commute. http://www.autonationtoyotathorntonr...a82d1a17da.htm

I dunno, that's a toughie. As much as I love the LS 460, if your 400 doesn't have any issues then just keep that. At the same time, I had a 430 that had nothing wrong with it and I jumped to the 460 and couldn't be happier, so I really shouldn't discourage you.

How do you like the Verdigris Mica? I almost settled on the same color too because I was getting tired of looking. It is not a terrible color, but glad I kept looking for what I truly wanted. Also, although he price seems very decent, the service history raises some questions (see attached). The most recent inspection and tune-up just a week ago notes "engine noise at startup" and "declined trunk release motor replacement", so there may be something wrong there or needs attention. Also, the last oil change was with conventional oil and I personally prefer full-synthetic. The oil changes are also spaced 10k-20k miles apart. Perhaps the previous owner did their own oil changes or had it changed elsewhere, but I would inquire about that. The condition of the car, inside and out, looks pretty good for 10-years-old and 117K miles. I do not recall normally seeing wood around the vents, mirror controls, and steering wheel radio/phone buttons like this LS has. Maybe those are aftermarket? If it was me, I would need to test drive it and think hard about the service history and color. I personally would pass on it because it is pretty basic -- no ML and no rear seat upgrade. I like having cooled rear seats for family but that may not be important or necessary for you. At the very least, I would want the upgraded audio system.

Looks like a fairly nice car. Bottom line is, at this age, does the car drive well? Sadly, your LS 400 isn't worth much. The Camry isn't in the same class as the LS but you may want to look at the Avalon.
