Smile New Member Post, Work in Sales @ Tom Wood Lexus Indianapolis

Hello everyone! My name is Brandon and I work as a Sales Consultant at Tom Wood Lexus in Indianapolis. I was formerly a Technology Specialist at our store and have recently moved over to the Sales team. I have always used the forum as a reference in my previous role, and have always greatly appreciated the knowledge and sense of community here. I do get some inside scoop from time to time about all things Lexus and will share what I can, when I can. Just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks to all the folks on here that contribute and make this place what it is!

Hey Brandon when is the hybrid LX going to be out? =) .

In seriousness, welcome! Personally am curious on the RX350L as I believe it fits a much-needed niche in the Lexus line-up (especially given the strong sales record of the well-received 2017 MDX Sport Hybrid) and the LS500, exciting times to see what Lexus has in store for the next 18-24 months!

Welcome! What kind of tech do you have at the dealer....I figure the older dealers might have a phone system and even servers, wireless, switching, routing, but newer sites may have everything hosted...

Thanks! There are rumors the LX and GX might be disappearing and be replaced by a single new model. Supposedly it will have a wide range of options/trim levels, and as such, a wide price range. But that is just a rumor. We are all definitely anticipating the 3rd row RX350L, as the RX is 40% of our sales and many are lost to Acura MDX simply because of it's 3rd row.

We just got the LC's in here a few months ago, and they are beautiful! The one on our showroom floor right now is the rare bespoke white/blue/orange alcantara interiors. It is stunning! Expecting the first LS500's to arrive in January 2018 or so.

Thanks! So I was actually a Tech Specialist for our vehicles, not IT for the dealership . Basically I would guide owners through how to use all of the features of their car, troubleshoot issues for Service Advisors and answer questions for sales consultants. However our store just went under a $10 million renovation, and our grand opening was less than 2 months ago! It's a pretty amazing facility.

Welcome to CL, Brandon.....and congratulations on your new job.

In this specific forum, of course (Car Chat) we discuss anything on four wheels (and sometimes, of course, two, three, or six LOL) But we have our share of Lexus-chat here, too....besides the Lexus model-specific forums.

You state that one of your duties, now, is to guide customers through the complex electronic features on their vehicles. I don't envy that role, though.....that part of the job probably gets more and more difficult each year.

You've probably heard, by now, that the CT is going to be discontinued in the American market....and ultimately replaced by another small crossover.

Thanks! Yep, my previous role was Technology and Delivery Specialist. Definitely not an easy job with some of our customers as many are older. I did hear about the CT, and I like the updates they did to it. Too bad it's going away, but that writing has been on the wall for a while now. The UX will be arriving soon, and it's going to be pretty small for sure! Also the NX is being refreshed, and looks more like the RX. GS will probably be going bye bye soon, very sad about that.

How are you liking the move to sales? I'm a Delivery Specialist and am hoping to move into sales to make big money.

Welcome aboard.
I hope you break more mold of a being a knowledgeable person in the field b/c some of the one I encounter at the dealership are pretty weak or clueless on the features of the cars.
Let's say I don't have too much faith in them.

Like everyone here, I get all of my car information here and I certainly don't depend on the dealership for any "upcoming" info. We know how that goes

I thought this rumor was debunked?
