740 hp GSF?
I am a happy GS F owner for over a year but, I could always use more power.
I found this video online of a 740+ hp GS F without turbos. Does anyone have any idea how they got these power numbers?
The video looks real because the top speed is higher than the car out-of-the-box.
This GS F appears to be in the mid 3 second range to 60, which would be competitive against the next gen M5 and E63.
I also heard that most exhaust kits for the GS F at 30 whp+ because Lexus tuned the exhaust system conservatively.

Think its sped up.. The beeps sound off. Could be on a dyno too.

Without a turbo, without a super charger and without some type of hybrid setup? I can't imagine any N/A 8 cylinder engine getting that. As someone else said, need to add on more cylinders to get that of at least that is what I believe.
Man it's crazy how the world is changing. 300 hp used to be a standard. Then 400 then 500 then ~600 in a sedan that is the CTS V. Bmw is putting out their new M5 with ~600hp. Makes me wonder how much more HP #s will increase. Of course competition influences this, but just as general question.

I think its BS, unless its in front of me, I don't believe it. Not that it is impossible, but I don't think this is legit. If it were supercharged or turbo'd, much more believable. Either way, to push out that kind of HP, you better have some serious cash aside.

It means it made 300 hp on a crankshaft dyno with all the accessories removed/disconnected as was standard back in the day this car was popular. Nothing like the 300 hp we see commonly on a chassis dyno with all accessories at least spinning and all driveline losses included. The old school big inch engines were pretty crude in a lot of ways. I remember helping my dad build 426 Hemis for 1/2 mile dirt track racing in the early 70's. Pretty agricultural and killed by the rules when you couldn't put a 1050 Holley on top of it anymore. He still loves those engines, but he's built way more powerful small block Chevrolets since then.

The clip shows nothing on the screen but the speedo, no dyno, no ET slip, no trap speed. Why believe this?
Is it possible to take an already highly-tuned engine and raise the NA output by 58% (740 / 467)?
Perhaps, just R&R everything in the engine (pistons, rods, crank, main caps), bore it 2mm to 96mm, stroke it from 89.5 to 95.5mm (5,530cc), raise the compression to 15:1, run M100, 120mm TB, larger valves + full flow bench porting, tuned open exhaust, and enough cam duration to raise the peak power to 9,000 RPM (and no power until 4,000).
$30,000? $40,000? Perhaps 2 years in development?

You could get 3000 hp out of 5 liters for about one F1 race if you wanted, spinning at 18,000 rpm or so. It's all about moving air and not overstressing the mechanical components. It surely won't happen with the 2UR remaining a street worthy engine even if you grafted the 10 speed gearbox to it.
