Exactly what I use in my '06 350. Been using it since new. 88,000 trouble free miles.

This question is a bit like asking "what's the best religion?"... important part of the equation is to keep up the schedule.

Also some school of thought not to switch from non-synthetic to synthetic on higher mileage cars

Whatever is on sale 5W30 Full Synthetic, I go for it. They are current going for $22/5 Quarts over at Wally world, name brands included.

I do use a no name brand, full synthetic, same weight 5W30 for the topping off in between 6K oil changes. I usually add at least 0.5 to 1 Quart within the 6K miles. Checking oil level at least once per 2 weeks.

I always use 5W30 Castrol Syntec Full Synthetic. I think I remember later IS models started switching to 0W30 but there's a whole thread about that

Been using Mobil 1 full syn since 31k miles and with 10k mile oil change intervals. No signs of burning oil or oil consumption. I'll continue with the 10k intervals with this same oil until and see any problems. Probably will be a couple more years until then.

I agree with kitabel, but for the op's sake I usually use 5W30 full synthetic Mobil 1

I'm doing the same, Mobil 1 full synthetic and 10k intervals.. Still thinking about replacing filter every 5k but I'll have to look into that.

A group 4 Synthetic. You also want to use a Mobile 1 filter M1C 256 filter since it provides excellent filtration. Then get an analysis done at BlackStone Labs.

It will tell you how your oil of choice is performing.

Are you using OEM filter with the 10k interval for oil change or another oil filter?

Just the OEM paper element filter. I waited on one oil change to around 12k miles, and there was no difference in physical appearance between it and the new one.
