Default How rare is the 2006 GS430?

So now that I have the Gs430, I have only seen 1 and I repeat 1 GS430 on the road other than mine in a year of me looking into these cars... does anyone know how many they made/sold?

and that could be a 2007 which is even rarer

i don't think there are numbers on the breakdown (lexus wouldn't want that out anyway), but gs430 definitely small number. i do see them here and there though

I talked to Lexus and they said that production for all 2006 GS in total is 27,200 idk how many 430 but same is with my Merc E430... Lot of 320s not a lot of 430s. Love having two of the higher level cars with bigger engines than standard.

I work around beverly hills and from time to time I use the 101 freeway to commute and within round trip, I see a few gs300/350s but never have I seen a 430 (like random driver who isn't a enthusiast). Before I hit the buy button on my car, i've wanted the off-white 430 (super rare!) and i've waited 2 months and nothing populated through the classifieds or autotrader... so I took a shot at my silver 430. 460 was out of my budget but it would've been nice to have a 4.6L with AUX input for iPhone.

Where I am I see about the same when it comes to 06 GS...I guess there aren't many still floating around here...I have only seen one 07 GS430...I was at the dealer getting service and one pulled up behind me...haven't seen one since...unless I just didn't know it...

I know the 2007 is even rare...buts that's because Lexus/Toyota was lost somewhere and they reduced the thing by 10 HP and 6 ib/ft torque and the 350 came out with 306 HP. People thought that they would be better off with the V6 with more HP, people think HP is everything, they ignore the torque and 350 only has about 272 and the 430 would still have been a better buy as it still would move quicker than the 350.

I think the whole gas crisis played a factor during that time too, where gas prices were ridiculous? Mentality tells you a v8 sucks more gas than a v6, but I believe in the situation between those two particular cars, the 430 sucked less gas in city lol.

EDIT: Speaking of pre-GS cars, the 3GS300 was a freaking gas sipping monster! I was soo surprised to be able to get 24-26mpg in the city!

Wait, 24-26 in the city is not bad! This 430 gives about 18 in the city for me...Can't complain, so let me review my GS as best as I can, and compare it to my Merc V8. In the few miles I have put on so far, I love it, it drives like a sports car, can't feel the size and weight of the car, feels like I am driving a smaller car...Though let me tell you guys this, My Merc engine is just a bit more fuel efficient and a bit quieter. When I am driving the GS, I could hear the engine the whole time just a little bit kinda, now the Merc on the other hand, I can't tell if it is on at a red light or when it is running unless when I floor it. Though I will say that the GS has quieter cabin, lesser wind noise. There is not a HUGE difference, but I can tell that the Benz is a tad quieter... I bought the Benz and the GS from the same guy(a certified mechanic) I remember him telling me when I bought the Merc from him that he feels that the Merc is a tad smoother than the Lexus, Does anyone else here drive a Merc V8 and share the same opinion?

But do find excuses to drive the GS because it has more goodies inside as it is fully loaded and 5 years newer than my Merc which I can tell while
driving it.

I know some here may look at the Merc as a competitor and may not like me talking about one here? But I own both and I love both...

Not a fan of MB's cars, drove my cousin's 06 e350 around for a while and, I gotta say the MPG's are worse than my GS430. Even he agrees too lol. I get about 20-22MPGs in the city (depending on how heavy my foot's feeling that week).

You're free to talk about MB BMW Hyundai, just about any car company you wish on here, no one flames for talking about other branded cars. Hell, designo up there owns/owned a m5 and a GS at the same time, and he now owns a MB. No one cares what brand you carry with you, as long as you don't go starting up a thread based on your MB, as that'd be silly and belongs on an MB subforum haha!

I see an ton of the 430's here in WA. Actually, I started looking at the 430's first, and there were like 10 for sale at once, and only saw two different 460's throughout the 4 months I was looking.

"Mercedes BMW HYUNDAI??? I understand you may not like them but please! lol The E430 Sport of mine gives me 19-20 in town with the 4.3L. Nah I won't post stuff about my Benz here, they have Benzword.org for it... Though I love both my luxury sedans lol The GS though is a nice car for 06-07, I rather pick this things than the E350s from that time because this one will be more reliable on the long run, has some more goodies as standard and definitely looks sharper than the w211 E class from 2003-2009. That comparison was just because I am new to Lexus and just shared my opinion on it... I have become a Lexus fan now of course...I have one in my possession now so I have to be lol

BTW my second smart key is not working, it is broken. Does anyone here know how much Lexus dealers charge if they do to program a second key when I take one to them?
