Help Needed由X 450h OEM LED Swap with HID
I知 rebuilding a 2012 RX 450h after a little accident. The car comes with stock triple beam LED headlights with AFS. One needs to be replaced. Cheapest on EBay is $900. That痴 out of my budget.
Question:
If I get OEM HID痴 and the wiring harnesses, can I monkey around with the wiring and make it work? Is this a bad idea?
Folks convert 2010-12 HID to 2013+ HID harnesses.. The LED to HID wiring is an unknown.

I would stay with Triple LED as it may be a nightmare trying to get the wiring to work if you change the headlights to HID.
You may not like paying for the Triple LED, but it will avoid hours or weeks of issues trying to get HID to work in that vehicle, if they can be made to work.

Next thing to be aware is that even when you get the replacement assembly, the mount points need to be brought back to factory spec w.r.t. body. <- Please make sure those are not shifted on account of an accident.
I would urge you to go through the insurance claim and use good repair shop. DIY will cost you more than your detectable.
I know it might impact your premium, but at least do the math.

p.s. I recently installed "new-style" projector headlights庸eaturing LED "angel eyes" or halos熔n my boss's Mercedes G-Wagen, even though it originally came with halogen headlights. There are no error lights on the dashboard (I simply ordered the necessary "error cancellers" and so on).

i have a HID light and sourced a harness. I plan to splice the wires without cutting them to see if it will work. I bought the car as a write-off from an insurance auction. It has a salvage title. I might go for the OEM LED route if it had a clean title.
