I ran over a blown 18 wheeler tire. Got supremely lucky and the only thing damaged is the passenger side vent piece. I can’t figure out how to replace it. I can only locate one of the screws. Any help?
I had to replace that piece on my driver side. To do that I had to remove the bumper cover, which is not that difficult. I don't know if that piece can be accessed on the passenger side without taking the bumper cover off. On the driver side, I think the washer fluid tank blocked access and the cover needed to come off.
If you need to take the bumper cover off, here is a video for an IS 350 that helped to understand what needs to be done:
I would try everything before removing your entire bumper too. Let us know how it goes. I have some scrapes on mine too that will eventually need to get replaced if this car ever reaches collector's status.
This kid seems to have done it without removing the bumper cover. With the bumper sag issue on the 500 I’d really like to not have to remove it.
That video doesn't really show how he got access and it looked like he did detach some of the bumper cover. Obviously, try to avoid removing the bumper cover, but if you have to it is not the end of the world. When I did it, I ordered the bumper cover separation repair kit from ETSY to have on hand. I didn't need to use it. Best of luck. Let us know how you make out.
I did the passenger side without removing the bumper cover. Just lift the front of the car on ramps or whatever you have that's safe, turn the front wheel in and undo a few of the wheel well liner attachments, pull it towards you and you have access to the screws and clips holding the vent in place. It's pretty tight in there but overall super easy. The most important tool will be a Philips stubby .
