Hi Everyone, I am having 1.4A of current when the car is off, everything is OFF, key away, doors closed. connected a multimeter in series with Battery + and noticed 1.4A . car has mark levinson sound system.
also I have removed all the connectors from the radio head except the big one. whenever I remove this 40 pin connector the parasitic draw vanishes. this has been killing me for months.
if the car stays OFF for more than 15 hours the battery is dead and I have to jump the car.
Can you achieve the same thing by pulling the radio fuse (driver foot well fuse panel)?
I found it crazy that the radio gets an unswitched power lead (used for radio presets and GPS data), it’s just asking for trouble.
My GPS receiver in the radio has an issue (can’t detect satellites until fully rebooted), so I put the radio fuse circuit on a relay powered by the ignition circuit, so no power to the radio until the ignition is turned on.
yes, once I remove the footwell fuse the leakage goes away. strange part is that during driving everything is perfect, sound system , backup camera etc. what you did is pretty smart. thinking of doing the same.
