Oil level sensor. Is it possible to remove while the engine is in the car?

How hard is it to access and remove oil level sensor. Connected to the upper oil pan

I remember getting at it from the drivers wheel well after removing the wheel and the engine under cover while on jackstands. Not sure if oil will leak out as I did it during an oil change as to not find out.
