AC compressor not turning on 2025 es350ul
Was warm in northeast yesterday and needed to turn air on and nothing. It was working fine in Florida a few weeks ago. I don't see any signs of a freon leak under hood or under car. I'm thinking it's possibly a bad pressure switch, relay or compressor. Car has 17k miles. Having it looked at Friday. Anyone else experience this and what was the fix ? Very disappointing. Thanks for any info
Great with those cars. My AC compressor went out with noticeable noise in early July 2025 just about 2 months B4 the 4 year base warranty was to expire. With only 24k miles it was covered by Lexus r for a new Toyota compressor with clutch, filter dryer, other related needed parts, flush the system and add refrigerant. The Shop Manager said they had to remove the front plastic bumper cover and drain some coolant to do the work, rather unusual I thought.
As said even relatively new parts fail.
Works great so far

The US Covid years were Jan 2020 to may 2023 maybe something to do with it with reduced work force and quality parts receiving issues? Lots of mix and match probably going on.
Also wonder what were the production dates of the cars that had the issues noted in the chart above?
Ex. For the 20 and 21 Engine Major when did production end for the 21 ES and what was different in the 2022 model with excellent Engine Major? Maybe early 22's had issues that were not in the CR rating?
Also what was different from 2019 with excellent Engine Major to 2020 and 2021 with such a dramatic increase in Engine Major problems?
Like having a scrambled egg go back in the original shell not very probable, will we ever know what Lexus did?
Maybe CR had some data problems in their chart development during the Covid era?

So the reason the AC in my 25 es350ul stopped working at 17k miles was due to the wide spindle grille allowing road debris to get thru the and cause a leak in the condenser. Lexus usually will not warranty this but in my case the service writer at a large Lexus dealership in Westchester county NY spoke to the dealer rep and he agreed to do a goodwill warranty and saved me $1700. He said it helped that my previous vehicle was a camry. Now I'll be installing some kind of mesh barrier on the lowest 5 inches of the grill. It's ridiculous that I have to do this on a $50k plus vehicle but this could happen again tomorrow. I noticed on my brothers x5 bmw that there is a plastic mesh protector in front of the condenser which it seems Lexus should have done.
