Im not really a fan of the design overall but I think it would look a lot nicer without that "swoosh" side trim across the doors.

The front end reminds me of the scene in The Matrix when Neo's mouth started to fuse itself shut lol

 

Was this in Plano? Near Toyota HQ?

The details don't appear very premium, unlike the previous generation, which looked more expensive than it was.

 

A lot of people focus on that, not just you and me. The first time I saw press photos, I thought it was a decal or maybe applied temporary bump trim from transportation. When I realized what it was, I had a bad feeling overall…

It gives it this “boy racer” look that does not fit with the car overall, historically or going forward. Lexus has models for that niche, no reason to bend the whole line to one standard.

LoL, I do see what you mean. I would not have thought of that, but it’s not wrong. Oh, and damn - maybe you just helped decode Lexus’ secret design language. Because it’s widely known and accepted the prior grille design was based on the face of the alien in the movie “Predator.” Maybe we call this the “Neo” grille?

Wish Lexus would bring back the GS instead of this thing.

I saw a new 740i in white down in FL and holy hell it looked horrible in person from the rear and side. Prior to this I had only seen them in black

 

Not my thing.

Wish a full on ICE motor was available and I wouldn't be so critical of it. They should have renamed it instead of keeping the ES name.

The ES peaked at the 6th generation IMO.
