Mechanical drone/whirring sound above 65mph
Not sure if this is normal but, does anyone have a low frequency whirring sound at around 65mph and above? It's a rotational, patterned sound, mechanical. Almost exactly like when you're washing machine is high speed in the spin cycle. I asked the dealer but of course because my car is new, they chalked it up to being normal and because it's a truck.
-noticeable above 65mph on highway
-unnoticeable regular street driving
-gas/brake pedal on or off doesn't affect sound
-wheel tracks straight
-sound and RPM of the sound increases with speed
-not wind noise
I'll try to see if I can find a youtube clip or audio.

I am having the same issue but there is nothing on that thread. If anyone has found some solution to this any info related to the matter not assumptions, would be greatly appreciated.

I noticed that above 65 if I look at the hood nearest the center, near the cowlings (up near windshield) there is quite a bit of "vibration". I almost wonder if the massive amont of air let in by the grill is allowing airflow to create some kind of harmonics.. the sound to me is almost like what you hear when a rear window is down and no other windows are cracked. Just way more subtle.
