1. JDMspec headlamps - lows = 9006J, highs = 9005
2. USspec car - lows = 9006, highs = 9005
3. 9006J = 9005 base
4. I cut a 9005 bulb and it fit right into the headlamp low socket. Problem is that the base connector is for a 9006 base.
The website you listed should be the final solution to my problem. All I have to do is remove those guides in the socket.. Man I guess I gotta go on Ebay and get a soldering iron.. No clue on how to use 'em anyone recommend what I should get?
Got the soldering iron in the mail from Ebay today and finallllllllllllllllllllllllly fixed the problem. Trimmed the ***** and modified the base to fit on the connector on test 9005 bulb, and it worked! Now all I need to do is get new bulbs and do the same thing I did and presto, no more ugly stock halogens!
