Default ~~ NE potential EOS BBQ meet (Labor Day wknd) ~~

OK guys and gals, hope all of you are enjoying your last days and weeks of the summer. I'm sure most of you have also been busy working on and brightening up your cars throughout this season (heck, what ELSE is there to do?) At any rate, with Labor Day weekend (Sept. 4-6) coming up, I thought this would be an appropriate time for us to plan and get together for another meet NE-style! Here are the details:

DATE & TIME:
Saturday, Sept. 4th. Meet around 1PM. Rain date on the next day (Sunday, Sept. 5th).

LOCATION:
Robinson State Park, located in Agawam, MA. Close to the MA-CT border (3 miles from Springfield MA, 30 miles from Hartford CT). Here are the directions.

WHAT TO DO:
I think everyone knows the drill... we park at the park, get reunited and acquainted, admire our rides, chit-chat, take pictures, more chit-chat, cook up some BBQ (there are available grilles and picnic tables in the area), etc. Great day to bring your family and friends out too! Since this is a public park owned by MassParks, it's wise not to do anything that provokes stupidity like burnouts, revving, tire screeching, or anything of that sort. Use common sense, and nobody will get red-flagged.

There is a $5.00 parking fee at the state park.

WHO'S COMING:
1. lexusk8 (CT, ES300)
2. T.L.W. (NJ, GS400)
3. steviej (MA, ES300)
4. fireballs gs400 (CT, GS400)
5. D-MAN63 (NY, GS300)
6. Stefwilli (NY, LS400) Sunday only

Post up in this thread if you plan to come, or like to be added to the list, or you've changed your mind.

WHO'S BRINGING WHAT TO THE BBQ:
1. lexusk8
2. steviej

If you guys got any other ideas to add on to the meet like spirited drives and raffles, post up and we'll discuss. As always, no idea or suggestion is discounted before the meet as we want to try to fulfill everyone's wishes. I understand that there is a Six Flags Park also in Agawam MA, so it is there for those of you who want to partake in some family amusement.

Another note worthy of mentioning is that Kyle (aka 'fireballs gs400') will be moving up to CT very soon and will be joining our NE CL family. Let's make him feel welcome at the meet!

-Doug

I agree, good food, good company, and maybe a cruise of some sort. No more no less!

Ditto.. New England is no where near where most of the members are in the northeast and is more than just a day trip for me at least.

(No offense to those who are in that area )

What happened to tri-state area?

Lexusk8, its great that you are organizing another CL meet ! . Just wanted to ask you is it possible to change the location ? Mass is a little bit far from us NY guys... If you can pick a spot where most of us have equal travel we can probably have a bigger turnout. .

Just a thought....

I knew when I started this thread last night that I'm gonna receive a lot of from the peeps of NY/NJ and points south

Actually for quite a long while, I've always wanted to have a meet somewhere close to CT and MA since those guys (especially from MA) are always complaining about the long drives to come to the past NY and NJ meets. Not to say that there is anything wrong with the locations of the NY/NJ meets, but I guess a sort of change in the meet location was needed. Furthermore, I can't remember the last time a meet was organized in MA, so I figure why not do it this time around?

Anyway, for you people from NY/NJ/DE/PA, don't feel pressured to come up to the MA meet, as I totally understand the long drive you'd have to endure. In fact, I'm not expecting this meet to be the size of the Roosevelt NJ park or the FBF meets we had this spring/summer. It's more of a low-key, mini-meet with some O.G's and newbies, plus our relocated CL member 'fireballs gs400'

Keep up with the comments and feedback; they're much appreciated!

don't laugh, man, we're already thinking about the NE/SE meet for next year.
i'm still hoping you'd come down for that, but next is the central USA meet!!!
Chicago sounds good to me for that.

a.k.a. burning rubber, scratching out, laying down a patch, smokin' out, etc.

"spinning the wheels at an extreme speed whereas they cannot trac properly
on the road surface, thus creating a high pitched noise which often results
in the municipal authorities appearing on the scene to write traffic summons..."

...or something like that.
