Calling the 2UR in its stock state "highly tuned" is pretty short sighted. I built road race motorcycle engines that won championships. Motorcycles are a lot closer to "highly tuned" than any production car engine especially when they're producing over 250 hp per liter and sitting on a showroom floor.

Not even once.
That's what FIA thought when the banned turbos. It's all about bore and stroke. No Detroit product could ever do that with a less than 1.6 rod ratio on a 100mm stroke (or more), but properly designed, sure, it can be done. Just don't expect it to be a torque monster down low.

Take a guess where that puts the piston acceleration, and mean piston speed, of that engine compared to current very highly stressed F1 engines?
Hint: it's different.
You must mistake me for an idiot or you completely misread what I wrote. You don't think I understand piston kinematics or the importance of rod ratio?

Wide piston say 141mm. Small stroke, say 40mm. 18k rpm mean piston speed 24 m/sec. No big deal.

I noticed you failed reading comprehension. I said it WON'T happen with those dimensions - typical Detroit V8 numbers.
