5 Memorable Appearances of the Lexus in Popular Culture

Was just watching some of "Ghostdog" with Forrest Whitacker and there is a GS400 in it. Larry David drove a tan Lexus GS430 in "Curb Your Enthusiasm" which they showed often before he took a big step down for a new Prius, several characters from "Curb Your Enthusiasm" drove 2nd Gen Lexus GS's actually. In the first episode of "The Soprano's" Chris is seen driving a Lexus LS430 giving Tony a ride in which Tony mentions he bought a brand new Lexus and he then uses it to hit chase a guy around and hit him. "Terminator 3", female Terminator stole and drove a SC430 for a little while. There was a 90's movie "Grand Canyon" where a character drove a Lexus LS400 that breaks down in a bad area and people who were going to rob him start attacking him for buying a Lexus, I think they were driving a BMW. There is a really awful movie called "State Property" where a character drives a GS430.

 

also in later season of Sopranos, guys pull up in a GS430 and beat up the old Jewish guy and his kid, also in Belly Method Man has a burgundy GS430 and peels off leaving the strip club. In disturbia, the villian drives a silver GS300, the GS was the car of the late 90s! Love that body style, epic. I just can't believe they choose those 4 out of all the movies.

 

Correction, Chris drives an LS400 in the first season of the Sopranos, most specifically a 97 coach edition.

That's right, Ben Stiller also drove a GS on curb. Hilarious when he refused to get in the front with Larry

interestingly, the article doesn't mention the Volvo 244, which is in the pic at the top. It was when Larry and Jeff test drove the car with a periscope in Manhattan
