Default Subwoofer opinions

Hey guys, I wanted a little more bass in the car, but i don't want it to be heard all loud and rattling outside the car. I just want a clean sounding bass inside. I was thinking of one 6inch or 8inch JL W3? where would be a good placement of the sub so that it wont cause rattling noise? Any ideas on what would work best for what i'm looking for?

Thanks!

I am looking at adding a sub/s and maybe speakers and amps to increase the volume and clarity.
So my idea is to add a ported sub (8" or 10") and feed it through the rear seat middle arm rest.
The 2nd option would be to remove the sub in the rear deck and feed it up through the existing sub grill.
If you do use a ported box the port opening needs to be right next to the sub. If the 2nd option is used then a 10" would be the way to go.
I think either way would not require a large box so there is still a lot of trunk space.

Good Luck

A ported box lends to more rattling. A sealed box will give you cleaner and tighter bass IMO. I have a 12" JL w7 w/ bass ****. I can make it rattle when i want to.

Get a JL PowerWedge. Takes up almost no space. It's sealed, tight bass, that reaches low. Quality sound.
