Default 13 Es 350 is so boring I'm buying a challenger

well I'm no longer going to invest in my ES as it will be used strictly as to and from work. With that being said I'm starting to save up for a R/T scatpack challenger 6speed. I know two completely different vehicles. Reliability and my brand loyalty is out the window as I thought I would I never purchase a vehicle that's not part of Toyota family.

took delivery of my Es back in late may of 2013 with 20 miles on the dash. It's now over 80k and counting, my commute to work is 180 miles round trip plus 8 hour roads trips multiple times a year.

I've installed lowering springs and different sets of wheels. It's now currently on coil overs with a top strut bar. Slotted and dimple rotors all around and exhaust system. On the inside a (2) 12 inch kicker comp x subs with a 2400w amp. A touch of VIP with pillows, neck pads, curtains and front table.
The sad part I just got a full lip kit painted and now sitting at the shop getting paint protection film applied on it. Which I wouldn't have done that and saved my money for the R/T.

When I first drove off the lot I was feeling like a baller but that feeling went away quickly as i found out I picked a horrible car to modify and have fun in. I loved my ES but always wished I would have gotten the GS and sometimes the smaller IS.

I'd say you were an outlier getting into a brand new ES as a high school grad. If you did your homework, you would have found out quickly that the ES is not a modder's car.

Still, I'd say the OP has one of the most tastefully modded ES's on the road. I've seen it in person at a few of our Northeast Lexus meets, and it looks sick! I'm not one to mod an ES, but gotta give credit where it's due.

You should post some pics of the interior with the pillows, currains, and table.

I recently spent time in Florida for a short vacation. I rented a Dodge Challenger from Enterprise and I gotta tell you, it was a blast to drive. When I stopped to get gas a young boy came over and said "hey man I love your wheels". I could have been his Grandfather...Yeah, I like my Lexus a lot and my '66 Corvette too. But driving a modern muscle car is a real trip that I thoroughly enjoyed. I totally understand the OP trading into a Dodge Challenger. A very hot car.

GOOD LUCK with the MOPAR!!

Your ES looks great... But it is not a modder. I can't afford a super car to DD and take on weekends but you can still get nice 175mph car for a lot less than you pay for a Lexus and mod the heck out of it..

I agree just based on pictures, I think it looks great. But as far as mechanical mods, it is slim pickings for aftermarket parts for the ES (as it's always been)

Welp, it's officially mine now. The Es will still be around as my daily driven car.

Congratulation!!! Nice Challenger. Truth be told, it's my wish car. Most definitely would buy one if I had some cash to burn.

I used to drive my Lexus as a DD and drove my '13 370z on the weekend. I had to commute long distances to work so my Lexus was my road dog. But recently I changed careers where the job is close to home. So now, my '13 Lexus sits in the garage most of the time even on the weekends. I've done almost all the mods on the Lexus...just need some interior mods.

My Z is a 6-speed manual sport touring w/ nav. I've only just begun to mod the Z. I've already installed racing headers and aftermarket exhaust...up next, a supercharger. But like I said, if I had some extra cash, I would most definitely buy a Challenger...preferably a 6-speed Hellcat Demon.

Indeed congrats on the new whip! Absolutely nothing wrong with being bored to tears with the 350, its great as a commuter but not much in the excitement department. Heres a shot of my commuter and then a couple of shots of my sunny-weather weekender, an 02 Porsche Boxster Ive lowered and put a sports suspension on plus the 19" SSR rims and various other mods...

Well I'm glad I picked the perfect day to take the Lexus to work for the first time since buying the challenger. 30 mins of stop and go traffic would had me going crazy. The challenger is really tough to drive without getting into it. Shifting gears at low Rpms/MPH just makes the car jerk and than Rpms drops really low, acts like it wants to stall out 1st through 3rd gear. Where when I do get into it seems like it shift smoothly and holds the rpm until I get my foot back into. Also this car has lots of useable power, I can't tell you how many time I felt loss of traction even at highway speeds.
