The dipstick (item # 11452) in our LS400 has a rubber o-ring where it joins with the number one oil pan: item # 12101 in exploded engine parts diagram.1998-2000 LS400 engine block depicted
I obseved a greasy fuzz at this junction suggesting the rubber o-ring needed replacement..diagram item #.11452B Lexus P.N. 9672119010 (1998-2000 LS400) 9671119010 ; 9671001010 (1990-1997 LS400)

Hauled engine showing dipstick tube...Easy to replace like thiis but requires patience to extract and reinsert when engine installed..
I removed the battery, battery tray and unbolted the fusebox to better access the bolt holding the oil dipstick tube to the head... Image depicting oil dipstick tube insertion point on oil pan and mounting ear and bolt.

I am not understanding the reason for this post??? are you just needing help, or what??
So, this is a project that I completed...
The hauled engine image was used because almost impossible to photograph the areas to access for replacing the dipstick o-ring...
You can read there was evidence o-ring was leaking?
Also, if oil leaks, then strong likelihood engine PCV vacuum leaking past o-ring as well...
The original o-ring was brittle and and cracked apart on extraction...not sealing oil or vacuum in..
Another thing...because unbolting and slightly moving fusebox (accessin inside the fusebox by removing access panel is required) on 99 LS400 to make room to access dipstick mounting ear bolt, I elected not to provide images.....
Not encouraging first-time do-it-yourselfers who may elect to bypassing removing battery first..

This post is concerning the Oil Dipstick tube o-ring seal where it inserts into engine...
