Default best option for bluetooth and aux?

Not sure what the best product is out there to add both bluetooth and an aux port to my '01 RX300.

I don't mind disconnected the CD player and using those ports inside the dash.

I was looking at the bluetooth tape adapter but it won't work for me on long drives since it can't charge while driving. I need something that is powered by the vehicle.

I think I'll just lower my standards and get the ION blue tooth tape adapter and forgo the aux port for $20 instead.

You're welcome.

Which device are those prices for? If you want just bluetooth, you can get the GROM_BT3 for $132 (includes harness). They typically have a coupon too, not sure if there is a deal running right now.

I changed my mind all the way. I just don't want to spend that much at all now even if it was only $100.

I'll try the cheapo bluetooth cassette adapter and if that doesn't work out then maybe I'll consider the GROM again.

Thank you for the help, I appreciate it.

I wired my own aux-in this past summer and took about an hour with $15 in parts. The 4PDT relay was the most expensive part.
No distortion, volume is good and easy to use.
Instructions from thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...for-rx300.html

ebay mini amp TDA7297 - $3 (comes with pot & audio jack)
4PDT MY4NJ relay 12v - $5
Rocker switch DPST 12v - $1 (powers mini-amp & relay)
Heat shrink tube, assorted - $2
16ga-20ga wire + solder - $4

Have an aftermarket tuner installed. Any decent car audio place can do it. You'll have to purchase a dash kit for $50 but then you can install any single din tuner.., and a 2016 really nice (say kenwood) tuner and new speakers and your car will be seriously bumping (like mine haha)!

What happens to the climate control display?

I don't think that 'CWSteini' has seen an RX console; simply does not lend itself to an aftermarket head unit.

Im going to give this unit a try. The bluetooth option is too pricey so this will just let me plug a 3.5mm pin jack into the stereo. It disconnects the CD unit, but I dont use the CD so its no loss.

Lexus uses L+/L- and R+/R- [4 wires for audio]. Standard Audio use L & R with ref being Ground [3 wires]. Line out level for standard audio is roughly 1v peak into > 10k ohm load ,,,[not enough to drive a speaker ... you need an Amp].

Lexus uses proprietary signal levels between units ... [CD player to head unit]

Typical after market solution I have seen just connect Ground from source to L- and R- and feed L and R to L+ and R+. Then they boost the level up.

The system built by (for) Lexus is referred to dual differential and is typically is used in scientific instruments. The front end of the Amp does a [A-B]. For the curious if there is 'n' noise which is picked up equally by wire ... [Working with L only]

Amp op --- [(L+) + n] - [(L-) + n] => 2L ... noise is eliminated.

Nothing, this has no impact on the climate control display.
