I would not do any headers on an NA engine. I had the original XERD headers on mine for a few weeks back when it was NA and did not like it at all The sound at some rpm ranges was just god aweful. I think MVP is/was making exact replicas of them (or maybe XERD was an MVP brand back in the day not sure), but I would not recommend any engine mods aside from going turbo. It's literally just pouring money into the drain.

the missing butterfly cup holder installed

still dont understand why the 92 models didn't had them , but a cover plate were in the back of it with 2 pins to hold something that would have fit

There's a couple things like that, where the only plausible explanation is that Lexus had the item ready to go but didn't want to release it yet, so they could justify price hikes later. Maybe they knew they built a durable vehicle with timeless aesthetics, that would justify a long model cycle and thus not have many big updates along the way?

The other one I ran into recently is the auto-dimming rearview mirror that came out in '96 or '97. The earlier years use the exact same connector, but with 2 of the 4 pins blank. Plug in the newer mirror and the auto-dimming works!

Being an early buyer in '92, a cup holder was never even mentioned or offered when we bought the car. We did speculate often about what that slot was for (cassette tape holder?, storage for cigarettes?, etc....) before we saw later pictures with the un-extended cup holder handle and then with it folded out with a soft drink cup in marketing pictures.

Since the other cup holder was there we saw no need to acquire the add on cup holder. We use it now to store the garage door remote control.

Oh, and today the new front bumper got a coat of poly sealant.

i will probably never use the cupholder because of spills and electronics , but at least that empty slot is filled now

I can imagine that was really puzzling without the benefit of hindsight! Did you by any chance ask the dealer to try and explain the cubby?

You'll love it.

I like it for the gee whiz factor, but I never use it for holding drinks. It's not really a solid enough design, but it sure looks cool.

Installed a Soarer Steering wheel I got from the classifieds here. Kind of freaky not having an airbag, hopefully I don't die.

Removed 3 terrible stickers the previous owner had covering very minor dings on the car. Gave the SC300 a good bath. (moms IS300 got one too)

No; there were so few SC300s available at the time the dealership was pretty far away so it was never something we researched. The speculating for the first few years was fun.....

Looks good, and everyone has dings like that. You can probably find a decent ding repair place to pull all of those for $200 total. Worked next to a Cadillac and Lexus dealer repair shop for years, you should have seen the condition of the trade-ins. The right paintless dent repair guy can work miracles.

Wanted to take a look under my engine and decided it was a good time to clean my custom aluminum splash shield. Boy, it was sure dirty! Good thing it's super easy to clean.
