Agree, tacked on, not well integrated. 98 Lexus GS had a similar element but it was better applied in my opinion

Looks like a nice update, better than the Altima, not sure about Accord looks like this generation of Camry will be sticking around for awhile then, similar to the LS. This really makes the new Sonata look disappointing.

Another hideous design!

Why does Toyota insist on stealing the Spindle Grill from Lexus.
Now everyone will confuse Lexus with Camry.

So after much debate I've decided I like the car inside and out, but the only piece that bothers me beyond belief is that tiny third window

Exactly, that fake extra window is a blight on an otherwise good looking mid sized family sedan.

I wouldn't go all that far now.

I'm surprised they changed so much.
Almost every body panel has been re-molded. Huge change for a refresh.

That 3rd window looks like an afterthought. Criminally so.
The 2GS 3rd window was better integrated. This one starts above the the little window divider, so it looks bad.

People will have to put limo tint on it to hide that part.

I think it looks great. You need to view it from the side. It cuts down the C pillar and gives the allusion of a more coupe like appearance without actually sacrificing headroom.

Toyota did a GREAT job on this refresh. The more I see it the more I like it. They really could've screwed this up, but they hit a homerun in my eyes. The interior got the attention it needed too.

The XSE looks good to me.Somehow to me less Camry like.
Got to get past the grill and the weird rear window blacked out area.

The XLE not nearly as nice and the LE will look worse.
The interior is a minor step up.

They obviously felt it desperately needed a refresh to compete with the rest of the cars in this class (it did). However, not sure this was the right way to go. Although it looks different from the current model, it does not necessarily look better in my opinion.

toyota design is just losing it's appeal.

the avalon, this new camry, the lexus models. All seem to have this somewhat stale, hunchback type look that I never really got into.
