Default Update on after market/Iphone interface

Well after researching there is no way to replace or upgrade the factory stereo. But I did find a cool great sounding Iphone/Ipod connect the product is called Simple Tranzit (#IS77) and it is a powered radio FM interface. It will probably need to be professionally installed as it requires removal of most of the center/audio controls. Installed ran me $153 and it sounds awesome.

Interesting. I went the Coastal Lockpick route. It was $250ish. Install took me all of 45 minutes. On top of the iPod interface, it unlocked the warning screen, and allows dialing and nav input while moving. The dash is MUCH easier than you would think. One 10mm socket and a Phillips screwdriver. All plug and play...

Man I wish you had asked around before buying that. Many better options than that one, options that would give you full digital sound, no radio interference, no static, no need to flip through channels all the time to find one that works better and full integration into your OEM system so you could use your steering wheel buttons and on screen navigation to operate the ipod as well. And anything that works over a radio frequency generally tends to perform very poorly overall. Add to that that it isnt even one that you can just pull out but something you had professionally installed, and, oy vey.

Not trying to be a downer, only to point out that you did/do have far better options and if returning this is an option, you should consider doing so so folks here can recommend all of the better options to you. You wont regret it I promise. I fear you will soon enough regret the FM frequency model you bought.

Wow, that sounds ilke it would do most of what the BS DVD bypass and Vaistech sl2i-up I just ordered will do PLUS unlock the nav as well and all for less $$ to boot. Do you know of that unit gives you DVD bypass too?
