Welcome to the ClubLexus forum and the ES section! And congratulations on your acquisition of an ES300 - especially if you got it for free!!!
.

- There's a good thread about increasing performance here.
- There's a discussion about an available header set here, but no one here, or among our cousin Camrys at ToyotaNation.com has installed it yet. Feel free to be the first guinea pig!
- There's a discussion about air intakes here.
- There's a photo-based thread about aftermarket & Lexus brand wheel upgrades here.
- a "Hot ESs & Windoms Pics" so you can see how folks are tricking them out aesthetically.
- The "Aero Parts Fitment" is a poorly titled section that actually shows body kits for the ES
- There's a "DIY & Technical Tips" FAQ that shows many of the most common things done to/with the ES
.
You can do whatever you want too. It all has to be custom work anyway...
Money, Time, Knowledge
It takes a large amount, of any combination of the above. If you have none of them. Forget it.
Catbacks make no performance. Intakes make no performance.
The only good $/hp N/A mod is a y-pipe.
The only good gains N/A to be had is a y-pipe, custom management, custom cams, and custom headwork.
Which is why anyone on the Camry platform that want's to go faster:
Buys something else...
Any of the M/T's can be swapped in for $1250-2000 for alot of work.
The 4-speed A/T's can hold 320bhp'ish with fluid and a cooler.
Your engine can hold around 350bhp safely if you're not an ignorant honda tuner...
Otherwise, you'll need a $4000+ custom IPT transmission, and several thousand in an engine rebuild.
And the highest horsepower Camry platform v6 right now is out with burned rod bearings after 750bhp+.
So basically... Do a y-pipe. Intake & Cat-back if you want sound, and forget it unless you sell your JDM Honda so you can roll something faster.

- Modifies the pissy TRD Supercharger to fit

I think Slooooooow either has his response automated or saved to just cut and paste every time someone asks about performance mods.
Pheonix even put in the extra time to answer this time! Usually he goes, "Forget catbacks and intakes, just get a custom y-pipe and turbo"
