are these the same cars? if not what are the differances?

In my opinion...

The Lexus is simply an over-engineered camery.
Is the extra comfort and quietness of the Lexus worth the extra cost they command? and the extra complexity or repair for us enthuesists?
In my humble opinion, no.

No, ES's and Camrys are not the same. They may share a similar platform, but the ES is definitely on a different level... IMO.
