Anyone know what the spring is for?

Who makes this?

one thing thats for sure, you'll have much worse light output!

the spring probobly holds the blue thing in place, i guessing it attaches to the balast thingy in the middle of the light inside....

How 'bout sticking some duct tape on the inside of the housings?

I know 5-Zigen makes these stuff, maybe they're from another brand i'm not sure.

But hey these are not bad at all. They make HIDs bluer, but it's not like you're faking HIDs or anything.

i found that another brand also makes something like this, but those are 12000~14000 yen a pair (roughly 100 bucks USD.)
