Question Weird faint rattle/creaking noise

My GS has this very faint rattle or creaking noise and it's most noticeable when accelerating from a stop and letting go of the gas. It's very soft and I don't know where it's coming from. I can only hear it when the radio is off and windows are closed. I can't hear it with the windows down though. Car drives fine and doesn't make any weird noise when driving fast and cornering hard. Only when accelerating slowly from a stop and in slow city driving.

This has been happening for a long time (since I got it probably) and has not gotten any worse. If I recall correctly, my 2018 RC350 was doing the same thing. It almost sound like engine knocks when using lower grade fuel but I don't think it's coming from the engine. Engine knocks are loud, this is very soft and doesn't happen when idling either. Are u guys experiencing the same thing with urs?

No, none at all. Let me change my engine oil and see if it goes away. It's already a year old now.

Maybe try a different brand of gas? Nothing in the door compartment area lose and moving around?

I took out everything from the car and will go to the dealer today for an oil change. If the noise is still there I'll ride with the tech and see what he says. I just filled up with Shell 91 again last night and have been using Shell since like forever but I will try a different brand next time.

@ItzFilyO - Check your rearview mirror to see if maybe there is a tiny little gap between the frame and the mirror itself that sets up a vibration resonance noise from the mirror movement contacting the frame. I had that slight, very faint, vibration noise on my old GS 350 and it took forever to find the source of the faint noise. The noise came about during cooler weather as most materials don't fit as tightly as they do when warm. A tiny little, itty-bitty, sliver of black plastic wedged between the mirror and frame at the bottom eliminated the vibration. Good luck finding the source of the noise...

I don't think you would have engine knock letting go of the gas?

Did you not just have some front end repairs? Did this do it before the repairs?

Leaking left rear shock!!! I asked the tech to drive with me and he heard it and they found that out. Damn my car is turning into Bladest's car now... will be replacing every part here.

Still under warranty though so it's free but makes me think twice about keeping this car long term now. Going to need to buy that extended warranty! Hopefully the noise will be gone once they replace it.

Only 26K. The other 3 are still good though. Dealer said it's mostly a defective part.

Man that sucks at 26k! I had a failed right front on my CPO, got it that way. 46k miles. They fixed it for free since it was an immediate problem even though it’s not covered under CPO warranty (what a crock of ****). i would say mine was a light clunking noise, not a rattle or creak. In any case, glad to hear yours is fixed!
