Are you having problems with the Radio Door Motor? Or the Nav Door Motor?
If it is the radio door motor, it maybe the connector to the switch that is causing you problems.

It is my radio door. I can manually open and close it so it is not off the tracks.

So the live purple is domes on motor and remove the clear heat sinking material.. correct?
I guess I have to disturb the clear heat sink material to both black and red connectors…correct?
can I use a nine volt or have to use a 12 v battery?

the blue is radio and white black is ground.working motor then check the optical sensor in back of the control assy? Does it look like a clear black circular
do I have to open up harness to trace ground wire. Where is the ground wire?
Is it a black white with with a circular connector and bolted to metal under radio area?

I got a new motor without the cylindrical gear and a new used Control assy!
1. Do I just have to remove the three door screws to put my original door on?
2. Where do I find the beginning of the ground bill and white wire to use a grounded test light?
3. How do I test the control assy
with a 6 or 9v battery and wires? Where do I touch the two wires from the battery and then hit my door button to see if it works.
4. if I try to swap motors on old unit how do I change the nylon cylindrical gear? … superglue it in shaft?

i know, the video I posted showed the 9VDC power applied directly to the motor.
Remove the plastic cover over the motor and apply power to the motor directly, then reverse the leads, the motor will move the opposite direction.
4. if I try to swap motors on old unit how do I change the nylon cylindrical gear? … superglue it in shaft? i think it is compression, but not sure. Like I said, I only replaced the NAV motors.
I never said you needed to buy parts, I only wanted you to test the motor, so you could isolate different parts of the system…take it apart first.

Unfortunately, my 02 service manual does NOT show the door motor. Actually, it doesn't show either of the doors. NAV or Stereo. It only shows the stereo door switch.
I was recently troubleshooting my door too. The odd thing is the door switch has a wire (blue) going to the stereo with a signal name DOS1. I have no idea what that signal does nor how it affects the door.
I posted about how I "apparently" reset my door. Now, for almost a week, it has worked perfectly. That's after trying to fix it off and on for awhile. Couldn't find anything wrong.
I knew I had power and I knew that the door was being kept open electrically and my switch did nothing.
But even with no information, this should still be a breeze. Find the "two" wires that go to the motor. Trace them out to the plug. Take your battery and one lead to one wire and the other lead to the other wire. I think he has this. Right Jeff?
WARNING!!!
I know there are sensors on the door assembly that detect when the door has reached full travel to turn it off. I would set my door to the middle position for the test after everything is back together. If it closes, reset the door to the middle position, reverse your leads and see if it opens. I would not apply power longer than necessary because I just am not certain what constant power and no stops would do to the nylon gears.

I bought the parts to have them in case I needed them and my control assy was out to lunch.
I’ll be getting into it soon.
will check orig motor first
then ground wire. will keep you guys updated. Ty much for the help.

Hello all from hot Massachusetts,
I would like to thank Daryl,Dennis and Paul and anyone I missed for helping me get
my wood door control assy working.
I took your advice and tested the motor first with a 9v battery and it did not work. Tested the new motor and worked fine.
Tested new used assy I purchased off eBay. Worked fine. Pulled the radio and swapped the control assys and my original wood door.

I believe one of you wanted my used assy. It is complete with orig motor and
nylon gear and ferrel. The door is excellent Lt. bird’s eye Maple.
New motor goes with unit. It does not have nylon gear or a ferrel. Super glue will work. see attached
