So yesterday I placed the Injen system into my 2003 SC430. As part of that process, I had to move what I believe to be the Vacuum Switching Valve. Upon removal I could tell that this part had been cobbled up by someone previously. Prior to just this week, my car had been repeatedly sending the P0442 (or P0442 - can't remember which one for sure) along with the P0446 code. After trying all the other options I researched on this site, I resorted to purchasing a used Charcoal canister that I had planned on replacing later this spring. Now after swapping out my Nav screen (completely unrelated I assume) and running the Techstream Active tests for the EVAP system, my error lights no longer come on.
While switching to the Injen system I noticed my VSV (I assume) had been cobbled and I'm guessing JB Welded? Here is the part:
So here is the reason for this thread:
1) suppose the JBWeld/Epoxy could have been leaking causing the "Very Small Leak" in the Evap system?
2) Is this part supposed to be in the 2003 SC430?
Here is my rationale for the second question. This is the part that is in my car. It screws into the OEM air intake in a manner that looks like it belongs there. My Evap is no longer tripping error codes which I take to mean that it is functioning. HOWEVER - with the exception of one eBay posting, I can't seem to find this part anywhere. I've tried eBay, Amazon, Lexuspartsnow, Rockauto and have come up with only the one eBay hit. I would imagine if this is a stock part for the SC430 it should be reasonably available. My part seems to be working ok, but my brain can't handle that it has been manipulated the way it has been.
Anyone know anything about this part that I am missing. Is there an "updated" version that has a different part number? I have the 2 volume (3 books) service manual and have found a picture of it and how to test, but it doesn't list the part number.
Sorry for the long post - tried to answer potential questions, and describe symptoms in case it would be helpful for someone else, in the opening post.
My own update: I called Toyota Dealer - no part number or cross reference (apparently the 4.3 V8 is Lexus only). I then called Lexus dealer. The tech told me that part "is now 90910-12224". It doesn't look the same, but I guess I'll give it a try.

Reason: Found an alternative part number - 90910-12224
I had similar problems with my car shortly after purchasing last year.
You can pick up a VSV that fits a Camry V-6 from 2002-2004. It won't fit correctly in the OEM airbox location but works with an Injen (verified by personal experience). That's because the part isn't fitted directly to an Injen (you use the bracket like in your pic above) as it is for the OEM air intake box. If asked for a part name, Toyota/Lexus calls it a VSV for CCV
I did this for my 2202 SC430 with an Injen when I couldn't find a replacement 90910-12223 without buying the whole airbox assembly from Lexus.

Reason: added part name
You said you tried other suggestions you found here on CL but you didn’t say what they were…
whenever I received those codes, it was either this broken vacuum line or it (blue square) pulled off from hard acceleration

Thanks Bgw.
1) So the first thing I did per the vast majority of what I read was replace the gas cap -OEM!!
2) Later, I found those typical hose disconnections like you pointed out.
3) Over time I found they kept disconnecting which led me to replacing motor mounts (not sure if I did transmission mount as well or just motor) - helped the disconnections but not the codes)
4) With still no improvement, I went through the engine bay and replaced any hose that I could tell was part of the Evap system - some seemed a bit dry, but couldn't find definitive failures
This was all over the course of the 4 years I owned the vehicle. I didn't get too emotional about the codes because after repeatedly checking them, the same thing kept popping up. Interestingly, this spring is when I was going to resort to replacing the charcoal canister. After I swapped out my nasty navigation screen and ran the Techstream Active Tests for the Evap system, along with clearing the codes again, I am no longer tripping the error codes.
I did order a replacement part for the one I started the post with however. Doesn't look like the new part number is an exact swap (mounting is different), but I'm sure I can figure out a way to make it work. It may not be OEM/Stock pretty, but my 2003 was in a wreck prior to me picking it up so I don't have no aspirations of it being a sought out collector's item. It's just a semi-daily driver for me. but my the same token, it really bugs me when things don't work like they are designed to work! I have really enjoyed this forum to help get some things figured and straightened out over the years.
