I'm new to the forum although I've owned 6 or 7 different Lexus vehicles. Just bought a 2004 SC430 with 110k miles. Engine and transmission seem to be great. So far, I have 3 things that aren't working. The CD player acts like it is playing but no sound comes out. The radio preset buttons work but when I attempt to reset the station nothing happens and it goes back to the original preset. Third, my seat memory buttons do nothing. Is this three different issues or could they be related to the same problem?

Not sure about the radio and CD player but I had the seat memory issue . I disconnected the battery and it solved the issue , it might work for the radio and CD also .

 

Think the seat memory issue is pretty common. It typically happens with a battery disconnect. If you run the seat all the way forward and back and do the same with the seat back you will hear a beep. At this point the seat limits are re-learned and you can now set/store the MEM buttons.

 

Thanks. Got the seat memory to work. For the radio, apparently I just need to learn how to operate it. I have FM1, FM2 and one that just says FM. The preset works fine on FM1 and FM 2, just not on the FM selection. So, it is probably working the way it is supposed to. Guess I should read the manual.
