Default top doesn't finish open process

This has happened 3 times in the last couple of weeks. The top opens completely but the light stays on. I go and look at the trunk and it's closed but not latched. I can push it closed. If I put the top up and then open it again it works fine. The light goes off and the music adjusts to the open top. Closing is no problem.

I'm about as far away from being an expert as possible. But, if it works sometimes that makes me think the system is OK. As a cheap first step perhaps put a thin coating of Sil-Glyde lubricant on all the rubber edges of the roof panels and into any metal part that rubs - hinges, etc.) that you can get to. My thinking is it might just be some binding under certain conditions and the lube might help.

Since fully opening/closing is dependant upon uour holding the button untill its done, a requirement that seems strange, it might be that the switch is defective causing a momentary break ocassionaly. They should have used limit switches to stop the process and that would have prevented misshaps caused by an unsteady switch pressure. But they didnt and there are probably reasons they didnt.

The reason is so you can stop the process mid-way to do the rear window cleaning.
