Am I the only one who does this?
I was just wondering if i'm the only person who does this but do you find yourself some days/nights just getting into your SC430 and driving for no other reason then to enjoy the mutliple pleasures this car brings. I sometimes after a long day just drive with the top down with no destination in mind just because this car is so enjoyable. I have driven MANY cars and I must say they are very few cars that are as enjoyable to drive as this one. Not only is this a car its a medicine. It brings calmness on those stressfull days and excitment on the boring days.
You are truly a sick puppy.
Seriously, isn't it nice to have a car designed to be relaxing? Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes lovers mistakenly call it "boring" -- we know better. And while the environmentalists are torching Hummer dealerships, they wave at us when they see us driving by.
Back when I had my '93 SC400, I worked out of town a lot, driving POS rental cars. Coming back Friday night to the SC and just SITTING in the seats was relaxing. I usually took the long way home those nights.

Sometimes I'll put the top down and drive just to go 8 blocks to the grocery store!!! Why?? because I can!! There was a guy who bought a new turquoise Thunderbird in town a month or two before I got my SC. He thought he was the BOMB!!!! One Saturday night we pulled up next to him at a stoplight in our new SC. He said, "Yeah, but mine does this... "and he lowered the top. I said, "That's awesome. Mine only does this" and lowered mine. I think he soiled himself ( and the interior). Don't get me wrong, I think the T-bird is a great car, I just don't think this guy is a great guy. Anyway, it's the only car that makes sitting in traffic not seem so bad. Oh well I'll shut up. You guys and gals all know this because you've all experienced it yourself!!! Happy motoring...

I frequently have to visit close relatives who live in the next town (only about 10 miles away). To get there, one must drive north and then east. I start out going southwest ....
Besides the enjoyment of driving the car, there is the satisfaction of just admiring its beauty. I know there are at least two of us who frequent this forum who occasionally take a peek in the garage.

I live one block off of "Bayshore Drive" in Tampa, Florida, an approx 4 mile stretch of road along Tampa Bay with only one traffic light (billed as having "the worlds longest continuous uninterrupted sidewalk" along the water). Often before returning home, I'll just happen to miss my turn (roughly at the mid-point of the road), and be forced to drive to the end, turn around, and return home. The water, joggers, roller-bladers, and otrher assorted scenery make for a very pleasant spin..........
