Default B1421 Code

Today, boring with Covid quarantine, took my laptop out, hooked up TechStream and ran the SC health check. Surprisingly, it threw the B1421 from the Air Con ECU. Google search yielded this:

B1421 TOYOTA Meaning

The solar sensor, which is installed on the upper side of the instrument panel, detects sunlight and controls the air conditioning AUTO mode. The output voltage from the solar sensor varies in accordance with the amount of sunlight. When the sunlight increases, the output voltage increases. As the sunlight decreases, the output voltage decreases. The Air Conditioning Amplifier detects changes in the output voltage from the solar sensor.

The weird thing is my Air Con is cold, and no check engine warning. I will run the full Air Con tomorrow on Auto mode to see if the warning light show up. Thought?

That is a common code you can disregard. It has to do with whether you checked the a/c system in the shade of your garage or outside in the sun. Based on the code, I believe you checked it in the shade.

You’re deadly right Daryl. I thought about that right after I posted the thread. I did make a run yesterday afternoon with Auto Air Con and everything seem ok.
