About pull trigger and buy but, question on chirping radar??
Wow!
Thanks, DJWLDW!
Per your post here, I just joined Lexus Drivers.
I found out a whole host of stuff about my car I bought in 4/2017! Of course, this is only Lexus dealer transactions, but very interesting. This car was a traveler. I have the orig window sticker from Portland, OR. But it spent time in IL, WA and So CA.
The first time they had to replace the battery in my car? At the THIRTEEN mile mark!
The third dealer battery rplcmnt was 1/2017.
Saw a few jump starts. Again, these are only dealership listed experiences.
I am on my fourth battery (none from a dealership as I have a longtime mechanic I like), but now use an AGM. And still use a tender, esp if it sits for 4+days.
What is odd: a 2009 battery was installed in the car when I bought it, which I promptly replaced. So someone stuck an old battery in the car?
If our cars could talk....

If you need to replace your battery I would look at a Duracell AGM in what every group size you need for the LS. I have one of these in my SC 430 and will install one in the LS when the time comes. They are not cheap but it has been a great battery in the SC. Never an issue.

I second the AGM battery! Especially for this car. I think it was around $280.
I had three Interstate's prior (my mechanic really likes them). He tried finding out where the drain was....couldn't pin it down. Interstate's are good in that they will replace a/o prorate but why go through the hassle? I feel much better about taking it up to the mtns or Vegas and letting it sit for a while w/o a tender. Knowing what I know now, I will always go w/ AGM until something better comes along. I don't think you'll regret it.
Three batteries for an '02 isn't bad at all, but remember that's just showing you Lexus dealerships! There may have been many more...
Regardless, your car is a beauty! Enjoy!

Oh you will facing with battery problem. If you don’t want to find out your battery is dead when you go down to your garage to start her, keep her on the battery tender while she sits, She will kill the interstate battery in three years.
