Default Test driving a 2006 SC430

It has 40k miles. Anything in particular to watch out for? I thought I read somewhere about what issues there were by model years, if there was any, for the SCs but I can't find it now. Thanks guys!

Check out the stickies at the top of the SC430 forum. There's a buyer's guide and a FAQ. Good luck and let us know what you find and decide.

Oh thank you, that's what I needed. It's a great car. The hard top closed really well, but lots of wind noise by the side mirrors. Couldn't check the exterior paint very well as it was dirty, but looks like the rear bumper has been resprayed. But for a 2006 with only 40k miles, didn't look that bad. Interior is mint and engine sounds so quiet.

The wind noise is related to the triangle weatherstripping piece that goes around the little tweeter (on the inside) and the side view mirror (on the outside). A split develops in the rubber where the window glass comes up and meets it. I think that the door opening and closing wears it out.

Check out this thread. (I did a DIY on post # 37 with further instructions on post # 109. There's other useful info scattered throughout that thread too.)

Most likely, that is the source of the wind noise, though there are other potential sources, the weatherstripping is the most common.

Thanks for the info. This is awesome and I appreciate it. I have decided to pass on this one. They are asking a premium and this one isn't in mint condition. I have been keeping an eye out for one and will continue to do so. I am not in a rush and I know the special gems are out there if I'm patient. Every time I see one I'm like "ohhh man".
