Yes they have adhesive.
If you don't want to pick at the side you can always drill one or two small holes in the lens and pull it out that way. Just don't accidentally drill into the LCD further down. You could also try some type of suction cup to pull it off. Lastly, a heat gun or blow drier sometimes applies enough heat to melt what adhesive is left and have it fall out. Usually they are pretty easy to remove, especially in the southern climates.

From the Tanin shipping envelope, peel off the white backing.
Now take a knife to gently lift up the black membrane to expose the clear panel underneath.
Then simply press into the anti-glare shield onto the LCD screen display. The black edge that borders the clear panel has an adhesive gum that attaches securely. Whole job takes less than 2 minutes.
Sorry for being off topic. Maybe you or somebody else can help me. I'm searching for a new stereo. I've been reading reviews about Pioneer decks but they are useless hype. All the positives are covered and they rarely mention the drawbacks.
The DMH-1500NEX head unit landed on my short list. From all the blogs that I've read one stood out. The blogger was hyper critical about all brands and put me on the fence. Well this Pioneer review was OK until I've reached the shortcomings section.
Does it really take 30s to load? How hard is to install these units anyways?
Any tips?

Hey Mandyfig - if you scroll up on this thread you'll see the BEFORE pic, the faceplate had started lifting off, I was afraid it was the actual LCD screen from the climate control but turns out its just an anti-glare shield that decays with age. You literally just peel it off the unit and slap on a new one (99.00). CapeMayDoc
