RX450H space saver
SC430 space saver
Hi All

I have two cars at the moment, a RX 450h 2010 and a SC 430 2007. The SC has no spare and I purchased it in September 2019, but my RX 450 has a space saver wheel.
It occurred to me that if I was going on a long journey a spare is essential for the SC. On various threads on this site Mazda R8 space savers have been used,

But could my RX 450 space saver spare wheel fit the SC? the RX 450 space saver is165/90/R18, the SC space saver is 145/70/R17, currently I have 18inch alloys on the SC.
I am in my late 70s and do not want to change a tyre to see if it might fit!
Has any one fitted a 165/90/R18 to an SC430 or could give some words of wisdom.

Thanks

Jack

There’s no way that you can be sure unless you have the RX spare specs to compare with the SC’s or actually try it on. Many aspects that could affect the fitness. Any tire shop would do it for you for under 20 bucks.

use those tyre size numbers on this website.

https://tiresize.com/comparison/

you 3.7” difference...I wouldn’t do it...

Hi Bgw70

Thank you for your reply, visually the tire looks out of whack when the sizes are fed into the comparison checker !

Looks dangerous, thanks for the info!
