My CD/radio unit is not working. I wonder if it is just a blown fuse or something simple. I suspect it has something to do with jump starting a dead battery. The battery has gone dead three times in the past year since I seldom drive the car (35,000 miles since 2006).
I have asked the dealership when I brought the car in for an oil change but was told that they need to do a complete check of the car first to see where the problem is. So before I ask the dealership to check, could anyone here on the Forum give me some suggestions?
Just in case if the dealership tells me that the unit has to be replaced, are there really replacement out there?
Thanks!
Two fuses associated: radio fuse # 1 engine bay next to the battery, 30amp green blade fuse. No power, lights etc, at all to the radio if that fuse in blown. It’s in position #8 in the fuse block. See images below. Or your owner’s manual about pg #230.
Dealership called me to bring the car in to take care of a recall issue -- Airbag inflator front passenger side-- so I left the car with them in the morning. I got the car back at the end of the day, drove home and to my surprise the CD unit is working again. I guess somehow when they fixed the inflator issue, they inadvertently fix the CD as well. Maybe it was really about a blown fuse?

I'm glad you had better luck than I did with the recall. Guess the dealers' in CA or the individual tech is more conscientious than in NE. I had to call the dealer - Lexus didn't even notify the previous owner.
