Need help locating a part for my sc430 r/s rear package tray

This is the r/s package tray that comes up when u retract the top of the 2003 lexus sc430. as u can see the bracket that!s attached when i was closing the top.

Go to Megazip.org and order it from Japan. You can also go to MyLParts.com and look up the part number if you don't have it. Is the part number printed/stamped on the part by chance? If you can get the part number off of MyLParts it will be easier just to plug it in when you go to Megazip.org.

Part number 61736-24040 maybe?

Part number is embossed on it. It’s the one ending in -24250 or 64330-24250-C0
The C0 refers to black leather.
most parts have their number embossed on them somewhere.

I believe the bracket itself is part of the cover extension pkg...but talking with a parts mgr is your best bet. See post #6 below.

Ok I’m going to correct myself after checking further. It looks like the “bracket”, as the OP called it, is not available by itself as it is part of the package tray hinge sub-link assembly, part number 64301-24020. So, as others have stated, your least expensive alternative is to find the assembly on the secondary markets.

If you do a Internet search on “SC430 64301-24020” you’ll find several hinge sub assemblies at savage yards for reasonable cost compared to a new one.

Further, all SC430 year models used the same part number 64301-24020 for hinge assembly on the passenger side.

They make some really good adhesives these days. I wonder if you could possibly use some JB WELD, PVC cement or two part adhesive to reattach the two parts together. The hinge is pretty well hidden, so no one will be able to see it

Maybe JB Weld with some sort of reinforcement piece connecting the two broken pieces, tig or spot welding if the underlying substrate supports it. Otherwise, I think the jerky motion of the side extension piece will probably cause a failure over time. The OP did not mention how this part failed/snapped in the first place. I suspect a substantial amount of force or resistance caused the failure. I haven’t seen one like this before.

Daryl ... that is a piece of weather stripping next to the side extension part in the diagram. But I admit I initially thought the bracket was part of it too, but after closer inspection the “bracket” is part of the package tray hinge, not the side extension panel.
Thus part of my meaculpa in post #6 above.

finally got the rear package tray installed , after purchasing a used assembly on ebay, installation took me and a friend about 5 hrs, but at least in the end it works perfectly.
today i decided to replace the front strut assemblies, took on the task as if i knew what i was doing, but due to the fact i work at a toyota dealership and have access to use shop equipment it took me about 3 and a half hours with very little assistance from my fellow mechanics, but i got it accomplished bring my suspension back to stock, my next project is the rear suspension, looking for help on removing trunk panels to access the rear strut tower nuts to remove rear struts,
didnt find any rear help in disassembling trunk interior panels,

I don't quite understand what you are saying here, one could read it in several humorous ways, but there are several sections on disassembling the rear trunk upholstery for example, in the section where they describe renewing the radio mast in the paper Service Manual: Sections 67 and 76 I recall. These are in Volume 2. Since I don't use it everyday I had to hunt around for it.

Supporting info: There are also some utoob videos - some better than others - where they describe replacing the trunk "subwoofer"where they take apart parts of the trunk upholstery as well as the rear interior. Must be others. If you are taking the time to take out the trunk upholstery go the next step and replace that woofer because it is probably approaching EOL anyway. You can get the marine quality Polk driver from Critchfield; there are no doubt others. I think there is a thread on the Forum about this - search. Make sure you wire the dual voice coils to effect the proper resistance - also explained in the videos. I cannot remember if the Levinson amp wants a 2, 4, or 8 Ohm load. There is nothing wrong with the Harmon/Mark Levinson system sonically. I like stock. Most dynamic speakers dry out and fail.

I'll probably replace my old poor spec stock trunk driver (you don't use paper cones in a harsh car environment but that is far in the summer. My "detailer" lunched my antenna when he ran it through a carwash. :egads:
