2006 SC430 TPMS sensor replacement
I don't know as my original equipment batteries are failing but it would seem logical that both separate and independent systems would work, but don't know if a frequency conflict would cause a problem.

would you know if your able to use this device as well as the factory tpm system . My OEM has not failed yet but I would like to be able to install the new sensors on my tires and still have the factory set up still work. Or is there a possible radio frequency conflict with both systems operating independently if each other
I think this is a great investment if they are fairly accurate. 2 of my cars do not have the TPMS (SC is one of them) and this gives you some indication that your tires need some attention. Better than a visual check for sure.
I disconnected the factory TPMS and installed the Carchet system. I did check the tire pressures before and the Carchet readout matches perfectly. The little monitor fits perfectly in the cigarette lighter spot and the door to the compartment closes all the way. I plan to leave it closed and will check occasionally, but there is an audible alarm if pressure gets too high or too low. And it will indicate which tire has the problem. Much better than a $600 factory restoration of their TPMS system that just silently indicates a low pressure in one of the tires in my 2006 SC430. I am very impressed for what $72 gets you.
However, get a translator or a stiff martini before you read the instructions on how to set the limits.

My '05 also got the light on; pressure was a little low, now is ok but the light stays lit. Cold weather must have triggered it and drained what was left of the battery in one of the sensors.
Lasted almost 14 years, not bad. On the RX these lasted about 8 years. RX has a reset button, so local Costco installed the TPMS for $20/wheel (five sensors purchased separately).
02-06 SC430 don't have the reset button so I ordered the same CL201 sensor off ebay (item 113316545352) as in the photos above as it should fit with the ashtray door closed. $43 instead of $50/wheel+ relearning fee. Yes, it should also do temperature: manual is on s3.amazonaws.com/download.appinthestore.com/201606/CL201+User+Manual.pdf

I have a 2006 SC430. The TPMS light comes on while driving then goes off. All tires are at correct pressure. I think one of the sensor batteries is failing. I wish to take a less expensive way to replace all of the tire pressure sensors than going to the Lexus dealer if I can. I know that in this car that they are strapped to the inside of the after market wheels. I assume that some of the aftermarket sensors, other than the expensive ones at Lexus will work but I would like to make sure before buying them and heading to the nearest tire store.
Does anyone have experience doing the replacement this way? It would also seem that any tire shop could do the re-calibration and it should be an easy project. I see in some discussions here that some sensors are color coded, but since this car just shows when one tire is low, not which one, would color coding be necessary?
I have read about disabling the TPMS but really wish to let it working. Thanks for some guidance.Frank

Were other users of this device able to easily see the digits on the monitor I expected it to be bright blue as pictured in on line add
I have not yet done the sensor install on tires I just wanted to view the settings on the monitor and get framilar with setting it beyond default settings . First impression was it looked on the dark side
I think that with the monitor in the lighter recess that the darker area will show more brightness - mine does. I haven't driven it at night but maybe when the headlights come on and other brightness increases so will that of the TPMS monitor. In broad daylight it is adequate to me. And still better and more economical than restoring the Lexus TPMS.

I installed it on my GX470 . The position of the console mounted 12 volt source give me a good view of it I still found it not very bright I could read it but brighter would be better. I then tried it in my sc430 and as you said its darker in that recess so yes it was easier to read.
Now that I have seen it in action I am buying another to put in my sc430. I saw on ebay a vendor is selling them for 49.00 with a make offer, free shipping [ Its coming from Hong Kong 1 week delivery ]
This cigarette lighter TPMS is good for cruising, if it works, but causes noticeable tire vibration at over 75mph.
Yes each sensor weighs only 9 grams, but early wearing out of $250/tire is less preferable.
The one I received doesn't work (only one sensor functions) so I'm returning it and will get real TPMS sensors.
The manual says there exist 5-gram sensors, so those might be better.
