Default Stripped Bolt Head; Pie Purgatory!

Haha, thanks, nothing like a good tool segue!
It may have also been smarter/ easier to replace the old wheel covers by taking the wheels off the car.
I scratched one plate removing a stuck allen key and slightly marred one of the cap screw holes with the punch method.
This probably would not have happened if I was using gravity as my friend.
And the penetrating oil may have actually penetrated!

The star twist inserts look really good! So much better than the silly looking pie plates. I wonder if the pie plate stylist has anything to do with the current hideous Lexus spindle grill look?

Lexus just lost a sale of NX300 because of that ugly spindle grill. Recently, we’re considered buying a NX300 for my wife for her Prius is approaching 260k miles, we ended with a Toyota RAV4, just because I could not stand that eyesore spindle grill.
What were they thinking when they designed that thing?

The RAV4 is a good car. Actually it has outsold the Camry in most recent times. If it were not for too much money, I would replace my worn out CRV with a RAV4.

I must be about the only person on these boards that like the pie plates. Mind you, I do have a set of used 17" star-shaped wheels from a Solara for the winter, so I guess I'll see then which I prefer.

No actually there have been others in the forum that like the pie plates. Some still have them and others have replaced them with newer ones.

It's not that I don't like the pie plates, I just like the star twists a bit better.
And it was less expensive (and easier? haha) than changing out the rims to get a different look.
I think one of the other strings shows some VW enthusiasts who have used the pie plates on their cars and they also look pretty good.
Reminiscent of the full moon chrome hub caps that used to be on the Beetles.

And as for Rav4's I can also attest to their reliability!
I owned a 2001 which my youngest son is still driving (and he has driven it across the country)!
And I just passed on my 2011 V6 to my oldest son and his family!
Other than wear items such as brakes and tires and regular fluid changes, the Rav's have been very dependable.

Oh and by the way if anyone is interested, the only place I could find the star twists at a reasonable price was on ebay.
Bought them from cr center caps.
They came individually wrapped in plastic, sandwiched in soft foam and were in excellent condition.
