Opening the trunk "backwards"
Greetings all. I am in the process of installing a NAVIKS camera interface in my 2007 SC430. In order to get easier access to the nav unit I would like to keep the trunk open while the roof is still up, unlatch the interlock cover thus being able to look almost directly down at the nav unit. Does anyone know a code that would open the hood backwards (like the quarter window mod). If I stop the roof from opening fully, during the cycle, after the trunk is fully opened but before the rear window folds in, then unlatch the interlocking cover I think I can better access the nav wiring. Will this cause any errors to the system?
Working from the back of the trunk to access the nav system is literally a pain in the back so this method might be easier if I don't cause more problems in the process.
Any help would be appreciated.
Alfie

yes, Maarp is right. You can manually pull the green handles on your trunk hinges and open the trunk backwards. You probably won't find them unless you have the instructions.
You can find them in your owner's manual, or you can search this forum for words like "emergency" or "roof"
