Convertable Top Maintenace

After searching this forum , it looks like the consensus is to use White Lithium Grease to lube the moving parts and 303 protectant on the rubber seals
In the below video the guy sprays white lithium in a cap and then uses a Qtip to apply it to the hinges. It just doesn't appear to get enough on the hinges.
Are most of you buying a tube and applying it with a q tip , spraying directly to hinges, or spraying into the cap and then using a q tip?
