Default Good Price on a Name Brand AGM Battery

I forgot which of my Club Lexus friends explained to me why I should get an AGM battery instead of a liquid acid one, but I am grateful for the knowledge.

I was looking around and I see you can buy a SC430 sized AC Delco AGM Battery off Amazon for only $164

That seems like a pretty good deal

Turns out I was wrong, Pep Boys has a Bosch on sale for 25% off. That brings it down to $149 ($15 dollars cheaper) https://www.pepboys.com/product/deta...757?quantity=1

Costco has Interstate for $120, 42 months free replacement. I need one actually and that’s the best deal I can see. My Kirkland lasted me for 7 years.

The west coast Bosch are made by Johnson controls and are AGM batteries. Lower self discharge. Higher CCA

Costco sells a nice battery, but I was looking for a Absorbent glass mat battery. They handle the heat of Arizona better

Not to hijack this thread, but I just started looking for an AGM battery for my 2004 SC. The current battery is dead and the winter storage is almost over. Seems that batteries only last about 3 years for me. Being a member of B.J.'s I was hoping they might have one. They carry Exide Batteries but not the EXIDE EDGE FLAT-PLATE AGM battery. The best battery they have available for the SC430 is the Exide Premium Extreme L3/48X Auto Battery. It has a 40 month free replacement warranty. The surprising part is the price, currently at $43.98 !!! Needless to say while I was hoping to get an AGM battery, for the $43.98 price, a standard battery will have to do.

Disclaimer : I am not an employee of B.J.s and hold no interest in or affiliation with that company. I'm just a regular dues paying member.

Technically is not "free replacement" the way they do is refund and buy (may be store specific?). After few years the price of new is usually 15-25% higher, I argued the difference between refund and replacement (printed on Battery label), but who listens or cares? I just got the refund and found a better deal somewhere...

I would totally jump on that. There are no BJ's out in Arizona.

I did look on their website and searched "car battery 48". Many of the warehouses were out of them, so I THINK it may be a clearance item. Still, I would do it.

And it might not be a clearance item, it might be such a good deal they just are all sold out of them.

Jump on that B.J.s battery is exactly what I did. Got it last night and intalled it today. Very current battery with a 03/18 date code. Started right up. Amazing deal and perfect fit.

Battery swap.
