2002 SC430 parking brake lever turning yellow
I've had this 2002 SC430 since '01. It has 33k miles on it and always garage kept. It never bakes in the sun etc. It is silver/beige. Why has the parking brake lever turned colors when the rest of the interior has stayed the same color. This boggles my mind and is my one major gripe with the car. Anyone with the same issue?

Maybe its the interior color mine is very pale. I want to get the part replaced as it does look very odd. Anyways Its my major gripe with the car, am never getting rid of it, but may lease something to use instead of it. Thinking of an LC500 or Mercedes E400 (awd), which last month my dealer was giving to me for 785, which I almost took had I not gotten my GX for 425. Probably will have to wait until next winter.

One other huge issue is my radio knocks. There is like a huge banging sound, is it the tuner? I think I had the speakers replaced and it did nothing, honestly forget. I just joined these forums so trying to get all my questions in before I forget lol.

When you say the radio knocks, I guess you mean the speakers might be blown...the foam around the edge disintegrates and it makes the speaks sound bad. There is a $25 per pair solution...it is sold on eBay and I repaired all of my speakers and it sounds good again.

I already changed them, I moved them from cardboard to silicone. Never sounded right. The car has tons of issues with the battery, it dies so frequently, I can't even count how many batteries I've replaced. Its not the alternator or anything else the dealer told me. I start it every weekend to charge the battery, still dies.

Recently we've been seriously considering a battery tender to get us through the winter. We drive our SC430 about 4,000 miles a year but most of those are summer miles. In the long run it may be better than replacing the battery every few years.

My sister's constantly complains about the battery being dead on hers.
In her case I believe that it was operator error but never could prove it.
I put on a Priority Start Battery Protector.
She pushes a button and the previously dead car will start.
I don't get those kind of phone calls.from her.

Inexpensive battery tender from Habor Freight will keep the battery healthy.
