SC430 Center Caps for wheels
Good evening everyone, after I purchased my 2004 SC430 in early 2016 I replaced the original pie plate wheel caps with ebay star style inexpensive ones for about $100.00. The problem I'm experiencing is that the finish is fading quickly after 12 months and yellowing. Has anyone else had this happen? I may try repainting them and giving them a good clear coat but if anyone knows of a better product that is available I would love to hear from you.
Were these ever offered by Lexus as OEM? I did not see any part numbers online anywhere so I didnt think so.
Have a great day,
Ron

I have a 2004 also. I purchased those same twisty style caps on EBay. Same issue, the silver is fading and not bright silver anymore. I have a set of OEM Lexus twisty caps that are very worn, too. Lexus wants an arm and a leg for them. I believe that I will bring the worn OEM caps to a trusted local body shop and have them prepped and painted for use next year. Here are some photos showing the old OEM caps on right beside the new aftermarket caps on left.

Star Wheel Caps
Unless I find an upgraded product I will probably order another set of the $100.00 center caps and have a good clear coat put on them and repaint the other set and use them in the winter.

Yes, the star or twisty pattern was offered by Lexus. My '02 has them and they were OEM I believe. No fading yet.

I bought the car used but they were already on the car at the time. I'm pretty sure that it was OEM. There have actually been a couple of different twisty patterns over the years but I'm really not that well versed in it. They show the part in myLparts but do not have a link for it.
There are some listed on ebay that claim to be OEM.
