Default Bad Pothole!!

Hi everyone. I just got my new sc430 about two weeks ago and I drive it into NYC and to LI everday. I usually avoid any major potholes in the city and on the highways but today on the way home I didn't see a HUGE POTHOLE on the highway (I am talking HUGE) and my car sounded like it exploided. I thought i destroyed my car. I saw it last minute and was able to get most of the front of the car to avoid it but my back right wheel went over it. When I got home I checked and didn't see any damage and the wheel wasn't bent or anything but I am worried i did damage to the bottom of the car or something. Is there anything major I should check for and how does the sc430 hold up against potholes? I know its a sports car and you have to avoid potholes but can the car withstand a coulpe potholes? Thanks

Look at your rims...potholes are the enemies of big rims! Over the next few days, make sure there are no vibrations in the steering wheel (due to damaged front rims).

I had to go to Lexus anyway today so I had them look at my car. They said its fine and I don't see any damage. I drove the car later this afternoon and I didn't notice anything different. Does this mean I am in the clear and I got lucky or am I still at risk of damage from this huge pothole? thanks

If you got stock wheels dont worry about it... you can hit some nice pot holes with them if you got 20's and your driving in manhattan you have to go very slow and look... Some streets like west side highway are very nice and you can go as fast as you want..
