I find that if I leave my key in the ignition while in the garage the steering wheel and seat will sometimes not go to park position and that is when I notice my battery goes dead.

Can I use a Battery Tender to maintain the electronic settings while swapping out the existing battery for a new one? I don't want to lose my settings and I certainly don't want a trip to the dealership to reprogram them.
- Also, any recommendations on a new battery for a 2006 GS 300 AWD. I heard Napa's batteries are decent.
Cost is not an issue, I want dependability when it's needed most.
Thanks

A battery tender should work. You might be able to do the same if you are able to switch over the cables very quickly keeping the no battery power to the car time very low. The car won't lose its memory instantly but will after a few seconds. (Note: I've never tried or timed this.)

hi i heard some one ask me that question when we first bought our sc. told us about the same problem with his sc. we didn't have that problem cause we just got car and it was cold to ride my bike but!!!!! it's riding weather and the car sits for 3 or 4 days and I have to put a battery charger on it and as long as i drive it every other day its fine.
what can i do to stop this the batt is only 2 years old?

I just went on vacation for 13 days, returned home thinking the SC430 would not start. To my surprise, she fired right up!
NOTE: I don't have the OEM radio, but not sure if that is unit causing the load.
i have an Autozone Duralast Gold battery

True, after 15 years of ownership, I say sc430 start is unreliable, Lexus has not attempted to identify the cause or fix it.

This is the cut-off switch I use in the Avanti. But we've had no problems with the SC, so I'm not going to install one if or until there is an issue. This switch is also a kill switch for any shorts:

Posters here have made several suggestions, This high end expensive sc430 has electrical design flaw, other than is a perfect car. Is it too much to expect Lexus come up with official fix? they have the design specs and qualified people to trouble shoot.

I've added a kill switch to my SC430. I don't have any photos at this moment but will put some up soon. I only disconnect when I'm leaving two for more than two weeks. Up to about a week and half my car will start without a problem. I am using an Interstate MTP Megatron battery. I also switched all my lights to LED's (interior and exterior) and have noticed that I no longer noticed the parasitic drain which is notorious in our cars. Also, heard that leaving the headlights on "Auto" drains the battery. Thus I always turn the headlights to off when parked for many days.

I would only use a cut-off switch for storage in excess of many months.
